Whatsup?
I haven't been on here for a year or so. I am going to get my car back on the road. I need some Tires! But i live in washington state, i got 18x8 konigs and I dont drive nice.

Needs:
Good/Great wet weather traction
Fits 18x8" wheels on a 1.5" dropped 2g.

Wants:
Long Life - 40,000?
Good dry traction too.
Quiet nice ride.

Limits:
$160 per tire budget.

I have paradas right now and they suck.

Any ideas on the max size i can fit on these wheels? My first set was 225x40x18, I am thinking 235x40x18 is possible without much of an issue... anybody fit anything larger without any modification? with modification?

Also, where the hell should i buy these things? Thanks for any info.

just call tirerack and have them recommend a good tire. here's something that a lot of ppl don't know - all season tires suck in the wet compared to summer tires. all season are more about compromise than any particular aspect of driving - they last long, but that's about it. well, they also have a rubber compound that is better suited for the cold.

summer tires will outperform a/s tires in the wet just about every time, but their compound isn't optimized for the cold you may experience up there in the winter.

you want/need michelin pilot sport all seasons. prolly not in your budget but that's exactly what you've described. michelins are the best tire bar none.

i beleive you should be running 225 40 18's;
Michelin pilot sport A/S $231 at tire rack.

Pirelli P7000. one of the best weather tires available. more focused on dry traction but nominal in the weather. 146 @tirerack

sumitomo htrbzfg9000. NO! we call these the JS 9000's (janky shit 9000's)

great bargain. alot more tire than what you pay for here. the dual channels on the edges help collect water close to the edges and push out the side. if you drive in the rain like your aware it's raining out than this is the tire to get. sacrifices dry traction a good bit due to the large channels but for heavy rain on a low profile tire this is a great alternative to the michelins. 152 @tirerack
