I have a couple of stripped studs, how hard is it to replace them and what all is involved, I havn't gotten a chance to take the wheel off yet and check it out because one lug is just spinning and I haven't decided how I'm gonna get it off. Also how much will it be?

1) take off ur wheel
2) remove ur brake caliper, there are two (19mm?) bolts which hold it in place. the bolts are on the back side of the caliper, so u'll have to poke ur head into the wheel well.
3) once the caliper is removed, take off the rotor. it'll just come off, no unbolting required.
4) from there u can punch out ur old studs.

When u install ur new studs. put the stud into place and get a lug nut and screw it into the stud. screw the lug until the stud is nice and snug with its contact point (didn't know how to describe it). but don't tighten the lug to tight, just until its has a firm grip. hope this helps dude.

EDIT: studs shouldn't cost much. local auto shops (autozone, kragens, etc) should carry it. or u could go to the nearest mitsu dealership.

Studs are $1.50 each at Chrysler, and the four bolts you'll need to take off back there (two for the caliper, two for the caliper mounting bracket) are 17mm. Everything is just like that dude said, easy as pie. Oh, you're going to have to knock the hell out of them to bang those old ones out though, so make sure your car is on good jackstands.

1990 Eclipse GS-T

When I had an alignment done I got 3 studs replaced and it cost $12 including the studs. Took the guy a few minutes longer then just doing the alignment and it was definately worth spending the extra $8 ($4 for the studs) to have them replaced then messing with it myself
