#12529, "damn good price on 17" tires!!!!"

I just bought a set of 4 Yokohama AVS intermediates from tirerack.com for $63 a tire. They are sized 235/40zr17. They're usually $103 each but this is a closeout. These are super tires for the money. Now I just have to get around to ordering my 17" Rota SUbzeroes in bronze to put them on.

Will these mount on a 7in. wide rim or would 7.5in. be better?

I'm putting these on some 7.5" wide Rota Subzeroes. Yokohama's fitment guide reccomends a minimum of 8" of width for the wheel in order to use these. I already have a different set of 7.5" wheels w/ some 235 Yokohamas and they fit perfectly. So, 7.5 does fit pertfectly well, but I personally wouldn't go any wider than about 215 for a 7 inch wheel.

My 225's fit just fine on my 7" wide rims.

From tire mfr to tire mfr though, 225 can mean different things.

235 is a bit wide for 7-7.5 inches of width. it will fir but watch them close, they may wear down on the edges before the center.
