im gonna buy some 17" rims without tires...what type of tires should i buy? not too expensive, but something that will be good all year around and not slide around when i take a fast turn...
That's what I've got. When I bought them earlier this summer, the guy said that the Ecsta's were selling like crazy! Plus (I'm not sure id other manufacturers do this) they've got markings on the tires to let you know when to rotate them, kinda cool. I paid $112 for each tire.
My cousins got Falken tires on his WRX and they are really nice. He said falken 1000's but I haven't found those so I think they were the Azenis sport if that's how you spell it. But my opinion is kinda one sided because those are the only other type of tires I have driven on besides the shitty tires on my car.
I was right there with him untill the light turned green.
Alright, Im lookin to get some 17" rims. I found some rims a wheelmax.com... They got some 17's for $699 and they come with tires, are these tires gonna be really shitty? Let me know, how they would be. Thanks
i work at merchants tires, and almost every car with aftermarket wheels gets the kumhos ecstas...they are really inexpensive compared to others. falkens came with mine, and they are pretty nice, no problems so far. and HeDog, the marks on the tires aren't to let you know when to rotate them, the're to let you know what side of the car to put them on (which way they rotate).
I posted the same question about a month ago and alot of people told me then Nitto 450's. I went with them and love them. Got about 500 miles on my new set - cost me a little over 500 for them.
Hey I am looking to buy these rims, can you tell me if they fit my 99 RS, they are either 5x114.3 or 5x100, and they both come with the 205/40/17 Kumho tires. Can you tell me which of those sizes fits? And are the tires good to fit? Thanks!
The 5x114.3 and 5x100 are the bolt patterns. They both come on the same wheel. The rims will have 10 holes for the bolts to go through. They will only fit one way.

#12092, "They do have indicators on the 712's" In response to Reply # 5
You must be putting Ecsta MX's on the rims you're selling. Those are the only Ecsta's that don't have the (RWI) Road wear indicators. All the 712's do have the indicators. If you look on the edge of the tread on a 712, there are a series of numbers (R1, R2, R3, etc.) that will indicate when you need to rotate your tires.
