i can feel a "bump" in my steering wheel every time I hit a decent sized bump. Like it is a slamming feeling on the suspension that travels up through to the wheel. It kind of makes a WHAM noise on whichever side I hit a bump or pothole. It sort of jolts the steering wheel every time this happends. The wheels feel like they are going to pop off whenever I'm on a bumpy road.

Oh yeah... I have STOCK everything.

Any ideas??

try to dodge the big bumps

This wouldn't be anythign to do with the steering or drive train, would it? I can like feel the road through the steering wheel now...like every little bump or imperfections...and at higher speeds the wheel vibrates every now and then depending on the road condition.

Oh yeah, steering seems kind of "gooshy" or "soft" ... like I can turn the wheel partially before it has any effect on the wheels...it's kind of sloppy I guess.

Any ideas please?

did you cut your bump stops when you dropped your car?

I am getting the same problem but i can hear it from my passenger side and feel through the steering wheel over bumps. took it to satan and he said upper strut mount..115$ with labor

I might be your strut, do you sometimes feel "loose" while driving? if so,
some where around the struts if not the struts it self.

like what duff99eclipse said it could also be the strut mount.

Usually when you can move the wheel and it doesnt respond right away, its either the ball joints are worn, or the tierods are worn. Easiest thing to do is to jack up the front end, and grasp the wheel, at 9 and 3 o'clock positions. Try and move the wheel side to side for any play. Do the same at 12 and 6 o'clock positions with your hands, and try and move the wheel up and down. I will be money that there will be some play there. You will just have to visually look at the ball joints or tierods to locate the sloppy part.. If everything is ok, there should be no play at all when you try and move the wheel..You can also do a quick strut test. At each corner of the car, push down hard on the car to make it go down. The car should come back up right away, and NOT bounce any more. If struts are bad, the car may bounce a few times before the car stops moving.

It's definily your struts. It's bottoming out because the seal inside is blown. You should get some new struts as son as possible or it can compress your springs over time and cost you more money in the end.
