That's a bad idea, I know you've seen them, Little ricers bouncing all over the freeway. It's bad for your other suspension parts too. I think it even downgrades your handling. Just buy some lowering springs for like $150-200.

chopping stock springs is a bad idea......You will be riding on nothing but your bump stops the entire way.....Forget about handling, even with top quality shocks, your car will handle like ass.....Lowering springs are progressivly s tiffer which keep you off the bump stops....

Before I got my coilovers I had my stocks cut 1.5 coils off top of the rear spring and 2 coils off the top of the front. It rode ALOT better than my stupid coilovers and I wish I wouldn't have thrown them away because they were much nicer than my coilovers.

That would be your problem right there. No-name coilovers and factory struts. Get some real suspension parts and your ride will be much better.

Oh god please don't cut your springs just save uo and get a good coil over kit with shocks/srtuts or even lowering springs but don't get them cut. that's so 89 and so not good for your car..

Don't chop the springs, really bad idea. I was able to get a set of DropZone lowering springs off of ebay for $70. They'll drop it about 2 in.
