#11266, "Howling from rear tires.."

Ever since I put on these GSX rims I get this howling, 'whuuring' type noise from the rear. I'm thinking alignment or balance but my car doesn't shake at high speeds or anything. ALso the tread on the tires are kinda decent. ANyone know what it could be? Thanks

Might just be the sound of the wind as they turn. I can hear something like what you're describing when I'm on a brand new black top road. Also, the tread can make different noises also.

A rim with a slight bend in it will do that. Since it's the back, you won't really notice any vibration but will make ALOT of noise at speed. I'm not just talking about a bent lip either. I'm talking about the rim itself having a flat spot in it. Jack the car up and give it a spin. See if anything looks "funny".

Wheel bearings that are going out will also make that sound.
