Well I just had my brakes checked out and my front brakes pads are down to like 20%. So now i need to decide what to do, my options are:

1) Have a shop do it, about $180 parts and labor
2) Buy some upgraded pads/rotors and have a shop install them, about $210+
3) Buy some upgraded pads/rotors and try to enlist the help of some board members to assist in the work (I have very little experience with this). about $130-150.

If I get upgraded rotors and pads I'll probably get the Race Concepts ones cause I can still get in on the group buy price. So what should I do? And who would be willing to help (I'm in the Nor Cal area) ?

dayam!!!! your gonna pay that much seriously!!! I do brake jobs all the time and if I pad like 200+ dollas to do it that's rediculou. You can get rotors from Race Concept and say your and ASOG member and they'll hook you up with like 100 dollar rotors. You can also go to RSversion.com and get those rotors, they're pretty good too not as aggressively slotted or drilled as the RCs but they're holding up nicely for me Dude get a manual some wrenches and sockets wrenches and a jack plus some brake fluid. that's all you need. Jack the car up, take the wheel off, undo the bottom bolt that holds the caliper to the bracket 17mm I think. Raise the caliper take old pads out pop new ones in, you probably have to push the pistons back also. Now for rotors just take the whole caliper bracket off pull the old rotor off, kick it do something to get it off, then pop new rotor in then just do the opposite and your ready to roll. You should probably bleed your brakes too.

Oh yeah I'm sellin some metal master pads for 35 bux I live in San Jose, if you come over I can install them for ya hehe that and rotors if you get em. They have like 80% pad left, these are pads dude.

yeah like hades said ^. also get a hammer to hit the rachet, when taking off the bolts for the brakes. its torqued down pretty good. oh yeah i'm also a big time newbie when it comes to suspension stuff. its not hard, just get some tools and your good to go.

Well since Hades offered his help (and the pads for sale) I'm not going to be taking it to a shop. I'm getting the slotted/dimple drilled rotors from race concepts (their group buy is still going on, half price). So hopefully this will all work out good and cheaper, and I'll learn something out of it and get to checkout hades' fat ride .
