#10844, "tires . . . Again!"

Ok guys, I went to my local distributor today to order my Nitto 450's and he told me that after a few thousand miles they handle like crap and I'd be better to go wtih the Nitto 555's. He also tried to interest my in a new tire company call Federal - said he has been getting real good responses from people who have bought them. So I'm looking for any opinions again, figured I'd run it buy you guys rather than take his word for it.

They're full of it emoji

We've had at least 5 or 6 sets of Nitto 450s and love them. They handle GREAT, even after 30,000 miles. Right now we have a set on our 17s and 18s, for the track and street. I've never had a single problem with the handling of 450s, year round - not even in bad Colorado winters. Plus they have awesome treat wear for a performance tire in it's price range.

IMO, don't listen to them. I promise you won't regret getting the Nitto 450s emoji

That's kinda what I was thinking - sales pitch. I think that I am going to go with the Nitto 450's still. I just wanted to see if anybody had any real bad experiences with the Nitto 450's. So far only Jen and her's has been positive.

I have the Nitto 450s and love them to death. They grip awesome unlike the Michelins i had before. I used to launch at around 3000 rpm with my old tires and they spun like a biznatch. Now my 450's barely even scratch on my launch from 3000 so i get much better traction. Nitto 555 are drag radials. They are barley street legal and have almost no tread. They will have good handling but will go kaput after about 10K miles and are a hella lot more expensive. the 450s are a great choice imho.

Actually, the Nitto 555R is the drag radial. They also make a standard 555 which is their Ultra High Performance Radial tire. This guy was telling to skip the 450 and go with these b/c they are a better Nitto tire. He quoted me at 129 for the 555's and 115 for the 450's. Still not sure what I am going to put on, but still leaning towards the 450's.

I went to the place off of Lehigh Street I was telling you about the other night - Rim Maters. I've done business with him before - he's a pretty nice guy. I'll have to stop in NTB. Thanks.
