#10786, "I've HAD IT WITH lowering eclipses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So I get my brand new set of H&R sports in the car, took me 8 F&#*$ing hours! I ran into just about every problem u could have. Got the rears in relativley easy and lowered it off the jack and the back end sat nicely. Took forever to do the fronts, get it down and what do u know?!?!??! Its slammed to the damn ground, further than my coil overs slammed it! Checked tire wear on the fronts and my camber must be soooooo off. The ride is ok but now I have to deal with shit camber, a car thats too low in the front. And, the springs in the back are rattling now! Why do they make the Eclipse so low in the front stock and yet have the nastiest wheel gap ever?!?! I dont even know why I bothered except for the fact that it looks sweet. Thinking about just taking them out and selling them and my coil overs and throwing stocks back on. Whats the point of lowering Eclipses, because they go way to low in the front? Thanx for letting me vent my frustration. Any ideas or comments?

just relearn how to drive your car. I used to scrape like a SOB until I learned how to drive my newly lowered car.

i just put sportline springs in w/the $15 camber mod. it would have taken me 4hours w/no knowledge of suspension but on the 99 models the stabalizer link is different and gave me hell on the right front. it was the most poorly designed pos the allen wrench ended up stripping out and it took me 6 hours to dremmel the mofo. other than that it was cake.

the sportlines settled out, but I could drive it without scraping. The eibach pro kit is what you need. They are low, but not too much for driveability. Well, I don't think so. I am already used to driving slammed on settled out sportlines. And a fiberglass front.

Putting the stock springs back on is the same process as taking them off... except you're gonna have to use a spring compressor to get them on.

I can pretty much guarantee that once you raise it back up and take a good look at it... you're gonna want to lower it again. emoji

coilovers...adjustable height is what you need

If you had a hard time installing springs just wait until you get to figure these out emoji Its still easy but just a couple more thigns than springs.

Ive worked with the suspension so many times...yeah it can suck. I bet your hands were taotally black afterwards, I know mine were.

I have H & R Sports on my car, and it isn't too low -- as far as scraping, you have to learn how to drive a lowered car. Slow over bumps, avoid potholes, take slants at angles.

As for the camber, get a camber kit. And don't go stock height...it's ugly.....

(The pic below was taken before I lowered my car...ack -- new pics coming soon)
