#10663, "tires"

I recently got 17x7.5 rims and was told I need 225/45R17 tires. I just want to check and make sure that's right before I buy tires. Is it? ...and what tires are you guys driving on? I've looked into the Perelli, Nitto, BF Good, and Dunlop - and suggestions? Thanks.

Yeah that size will work, and YOKOHAMAS!!! The only way to go in my book! We have some Kuhmo Esctas (sp?) On our celica and they SUCK. They are noisy and don;t handle for SHIZIT for being a z rated tire. I have H rated Yokohamas on my clipse and they handle ten times better then the kuhmos. But the kuhmos are cheaper.. your money your choice bro!

Kumhos are actually good for the money but you can get Nitto 450s for a few bucks more a tire and they last longer.

Nitto 450s all the way emoji

We have 215/45/17s on our 17x7.5 rims. I'm not sure about the price difference between 225s and 215s, but if it's alot and you're on a budget, 215s will work just fine emoji

Thanks for all the input guys. I checked out all the tires you mentioned - I'm not at all impressed with the Kumos. I have been leaning towards the Nitto 450's right from the start (I have a big glossy brochure from them!). I was with some guys last night and everyone of them had Nittos on their cars. So I think I'll order some next week.

Jen- I'm not sure about price differences either, but I know with a narrower tire you have more of a chance of curbing your rims. A little bit of tire overhang is sometimes good so I'm thinking 225's! -Talk to you later.

Ok guys, I went to my local distributor today to order my Nitto 450's and he told me that after a few thousand miles they handle like crap and I'd be better to go wtih the Nitto 555's. He also tried to interest my in a new tire company call Federal - said he has been real good responses from people who have bought them. So I'm looking for any opinions again, figured I'd run it buy you guys rather than take his word for it.

Not true emoji We drove on one of our Nitto 450 sets for well past 30,000 miles and they still handled awesome. The inside had no treat left whatsoever from the bad camber and even the belts were showing and they still handled fine.
