okay, took my car to satan yesterday to get fixed. They told me the ball joints didnt need replaced they just need to be resealed. So I'm like yeah, okay. So I leave, car drives a lot better now, but I'm still getting that damn creaking noise when i slightly turn my wheel left or right to turn. It's very aggravating, and the noise is horrible, its like creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaak. Please help anyone?

Take it back and have them replace them (especially since they are still creaking), the recall still stands until they have replaced them, call the mitsubish customer service number and complain that you dont feel safe driving it and they will demand the dealer fixes it, the dealers do that to everyone, its fuckin bullcrap, it doesnt cost them anything to replace them.

you are still riding in a death trap, take it back and demand they fix it, if they dont have them call mitsu right away or take it to another dealer asap.

Maybe you didnt understand mine, you are driving in a death trap,
Take it in asap.
Do you feel safe in your car now knowing that at anytime your wheels could just fall off, do you think a mechanic is qualified enough to tell you the metalurgical condition of a 1/2" thick rod of steel? I think not.

Do you want to be driving down the highway and flip you car 5 times because the wheel fell off at 75 miles an hour? I wouldn't.

Have you not seen pictures of some of the guys on this board who's front ends are all fucked up from the ball joint/wheel just collapsing?

Go get it completely replaced now, all they did is mask the noise and save themselves a couple bruised knuckles at your expense.

I sure hope you dont have kids that ride in your car.

Sorry for seeming so harse but this is a serious recall, very serious.
There are about 20 people on this board and ASOG that have already had theirs collapse and cause major damage.

And again, the recall stays open until they replace it completely, so you wont be charged for taking it in again, and if they give you problems have them call the mitsu/chrylse customer service number and they will demand it be done, it is also illegal to refuse to perform recall work.

well i checked the ball joints just to see what the hell they did. Sure enough they are not replaced and there is still a large hole where the boot/cover is or whatever u wanna call it. Car is parked for now until I take it in tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the facts about this situation, I normally would be driving it to school here in about half a hour but I drive on the highway like 70 mph so I'm not taking any chances. Peace.

smart move, they did the same thing to my car at my old dealership (notice I said old) cause they wont be getting anymore business from me and most of my friends/family etc used to buy cars from them too, not anymore.

Id doesnt cost them a penny to change it, chrysler pays for it not the individual dealerships, so its just a lazy service manager and his monkeys.

I know the feeling man, i used to deal with it on my old car. emoji

on another note, went to the dealer today, asked them exactly what they did, and they supposedly inspected the ball-joints and there was no wear or damage on them so they were resealed. I just got a letter in the mail today too from daimler/chrysler, informing me to get the recall done. I think everything is good, because I noticed a difference in steering and handling capabilities, nothing drastic but a little. Should I still worry about anything, or call someone else?

you already know what I think, they inspected mine first and resealed and yadda yadda, and then 3 months later, I got a huge creaking sound and sure enough they were about to go.

You already said there is still a hole.. well it wont take long for water etc. to get right back in there and start to rust it out

just go get them replaced, please
