I was driving down through construction area all day yesterday cuz of traffic and I had my windows down... I could hear this ticking coming from the back sort of. The faster I would go, the more it would tick and vice versa. Would this be the brakes, since it's about that time to replace the pads?

i bet it was the rear upper bushing that has gone out on the knuckle. when that bushing goes, it will allow metal on metal contact which can sound like clanging or whats not..

Before you go replacing anything, check all your tires for a screw/nail in them. This will cause a ticking noise that increases with speed. I have had plenty of nails in the tire, so everytime i hear it, i know exactly what it is..Could be a small rock stuck in the tire treads too, just check it out.

Ok how about when you are stopped and then start off, I hear a loud "clunk" from the front passenger side tire. Also when I do a hard stop. It went away when I got new tires and an alignment about a couple of months ago , but now its back. Any ideas?

I can't remember if this was before or after this post...but there turned out to be a nail in my passenger rear tire... unfortunately that's on the opposite side of the car from which I could hear the ticking...unless the sound was so loud that I could hear it all they way on my side with windows down echoing off of the concrete barrier?

^^ sounds right, I bet thats it.
As for the other guy with the clunk when you start out, I bet its the bushings holding the sway bar on they tend to crack in the middle and will allow the sway bar to hit the frame of the car
