I have some Maxspeed coilovers and i want to raise my car up a little. So i get the car jacked up and try to seperate the two locking "nuts" but they will not move! I am using the two supplied wrenches but they just wont turn. Am i supposed to turn them in opposite directions, away from each other? because if so, i think these things are seized together because they wont budge for anything. Ive also heard that i should try to just turn the bottom one, but when i do that, they whole assembly wants to turn. Any ideas?

turn opposite REALLY hard. Those things get tight!

Thats what i figured! I mean i put all my body weight into it but they WONT move. Then a guy who is bigger than me tried, with the same result. Im about to give up.

Your probably turning them opposite the wrong way! You are tightening them together. Go the other way. They turn, like a bolt head clockwise(look at the strut from the bottom(on the floor UP)) to tighten. You need to back it off. So when your looking at the strut, hold the TOP ring solid. And turn the bottom one from the left, to the right.

by looking at the threads, turning the top one counter clockwise would make it go up. And turning the bottom one clockwise would make it go down. but it just wont turn.. Ive tried both directions, just in case and still nothin.

i had the same prob with my old coilovers. first make sure the car is off the ground high enough so that the spring can move up or down. next they get really tight so u gotta use alot of force man. i almost gave up too but keep trying and make sure u are not cross threading it. i almost did .
