I know this is dumb..
But does anyone know where I can learn how to "read" tires..
Like their size..
Cuz I hear people saying things like 16X12.5 or something like that..
But I have no idea what it means..
Thanks

Thank you.

Quick break down:

16x7: 16 is the diameter of the rim and the 7 is the width of the rim.

225/50ZR16: 225 is the width of the tire. 50 is in reference to the sidewall and 16 is the diameter of the tire.

Just a bit more
>225/50ZR16: 225 is the width of the tire.
This measurement is in mm. So 225mm is 9.25 in.

>50 is in reference to the sidewall
This means that the sidewall is 50% of the width. In this case it would be 225mm x (0.01 * 50) or 112.5mm(4.43 in).

I put together a little Excel spreadsheat that lets you play around with tire sizes and whatnot. Check it out - http://www.users.fast.net/~metaljim/WheelWorkshop.xls
