I just thought of an idea how to use Tokicos with coilovers. Check out this site and tell me if it will work and if it is even worth it. http://www.geocities.com/icjeclipse/rear.html

Umm i think the threaded collar has to be at the bottom of the assembly, not at the top. The spring should hit the top of the whole assembly, there shouldn't be a gap between the top of the assembly and the actual spring like in the picture. From the picture, it seems that the whole weight of the car would be forced down against the adjustable collar perches with the springs pushing back up against them, and it doesn't look like that would be safe. Also, when you cut that spring, it raises the spring rate I believe. The rears are already 8 kg/mm which are about 450 lbs/in. Any other opinions?

you car is already gonna bottom out like a son of a bitch with a coilover spring, if you cut it down to 4 coils you may as well remove the springs altogether. if you put the collar on top of the spring and tighten the collar down (which will be areally hard to do cause you would be tightening against the spring) then you will be making the spring have even less travel. your best bet is to get some cut springs for the rear, i haev cut tenzos cause i never need to adjsut the rear. either that or just grind off the perches

That wont work for sure. The spring doesnt site on the perch with coilovers. The springs sit on the collar that goes around the part that sites on the perch. It would be better if I would know the names of all these parts
