I imagine they are harder. Other then that I think there is some difference but I can't remember what. They aren't exactly the same if I remember right. I think the lip is different too, polished vs silver.

I asked the same question myself to the mitsu dealer when I was buying my car (it was a 99 leftover so I was buying it in 2000). They said that the new GT was so popular they were having a hard time producing enough wheels for all the cars so they started putting leftover 99 GSX wheels on some of the 2000 GT's. They even told me if I bought a 2000 GT and I wanted the GSX wheels they would switch em' for me, but I didn't want anything to do with that ugly car. In 2001 they continued the wheel but it does have a chrome lip on it as mentioned above. Hope that helps.

they are different. If you look at the pics you will see that the GSX rims go all the way out to the end of the lip while the GT rims dont, the spokes only go to the inside of the lip. Hope that makes sense

ACTUALLY... the 99 GSX rims are TWO PIECE... and the 2000 and up GTS rims are one piece. If you look closely, you can see the 97-99's have a polished outer lip, and the 2000 and up do NOT. Hope this helps.
