hey ive been trying to research some info on megasquirt so i can tune my cars fuel/timing problems..i dont understand fully how the install works.is it a universal unit that just splices into any car and hooks up to a laptop..also does it do everything it says it does without spending a fortune.i find it hard to believe i can get the whole unit for under 350 when most standalones are 1500+. i just kinda need some basic input on anyone using one if possible with the details of install etc..thanks

Rodney at www.rs-autosport.com has this wiring diagram for the 420a. It should help you visualize the wiring install.

It is true, it is very real how cheap the install is. The only thing you need is time. The more expensive aspect is if you are turbo and don't already have large injectors -new injector costs sometimes are high, but you always get new injectors whenever.

On a budget, use the megasquirt with your current injectors and keep the boost down if they are the 230cc or so. Plan to set away a weekend to get it running. It is a very fun project in which you will learn very valuable knowledge which will make it very easy to standalone ANY car/bike/snow blower.

Starsky style,
DO IT, DO IT

To make it an easier install get the relay board. I too was worried on how to hook this all up, but it only took me about 4-5 hours to install it all.

Nevermind...

I was a little confused about what you said until I realized you have a GSX.
