You're a drunken newb, but it's an interesting idea. I know I'm just as bad as anyone else when it comes to sig pics, but I think that, if we had some sort of sig rules, we could make the forums look a little more unified. I'm not talking about saying set a limit for the max sig pic size, but maybe say that all sigs need to be non-animated and the same exact size. Maybe allow one link under the sig that can't extend beyond the end of the image?

Yeah. It has a sort of gestappo feel to it, but I don't think it's that big of a deal and I know it would certainly make things look a bit tighter overall.

I think that could be reversed, there are some massive sigs now that take up the whole screen, mine is animated but very small and I don't think its intrusive at all and very low key. I think its just the large ones with 15 lines of mods under it also that well could be made a little smaller. I think keeping along the lines of 250 x 500 is a good idea for a max size. And yes brian, when its hot out and I drink I turn into a drunken newb who mess's with firefox settings and forgets about it emoji

I complained about sig sizes the most and Ive always kept mine right around the size it is now, typically its 450 in length, 150 in height this particular sig is 12 pixels wider then normal, so you can take in all that is the crooked FMIC

I will say I like the size of driggs new one 400x 145 I think I might redo mine *again*

come on brian, we can start the revolution

you like this one instead? or should I just redo my current one in the new standard size?

I like that idea.

Way to go Robert for jumping on the bandwagon. Anyone else feel like going to a 400x145 sig? I think this thread looks pretty good now.

In case you didn't click my links, the first is to my NDSMR profile on Daisy, the second to the az2gnt home page, and the third links to the factory service manuals like Dino has been doing all this time.

Not sure it'd be easy / possible to add code to force all sigs to one standard size. if we simply make a rule limiting sig sizes, no one will report them so it'll never be enforced.

I don't think anyone should have to write code to resize sigs. I think this is something that people would want to do themselves to improve their community. emoji

Heh. I'd be willing to be a narc in this regard. I think the problem would be the amount of work involved by the moderators in the beginning to bring people around. There's a lot of sigs out there that are, in my opinion, unruly. It would take some time to accomplish.

Wouldn't this help the forum to move a little quicker? emoji

So what do you think guys? How bout just post a sticky thread titled

"MEMBERS THAT NEED TO CHANGE SIG SIZE"

and just a simple reply/running list of who needs to reduce their sig size, open to everyone to add a SN of the violator just a name and maybe there current sig size. heres and example:

1.eclipse982nrRST 640 X 432
2.Ikaika_420aN 640 X 480
3.eclipse_99rs 564 X 342
4.96eclipse2nr 432 X 291
5.BlackMagic 372 X 279 and also 372 X 279
6. Kirby 450 X 364
7. Gilee 8 640 X 301
8. RxR_Eclipse 576 X 384
9. InFiNiT3 18 lines of text
10. HadesOmega 450 x 267
11. djtrickee 175 x 175 + 484 x 200 emoji
12. ECLiPSE56 435 X 300 + 435 x 300
13 HipHop615 575 X 239 + 13 lines of text
14. Nine5eclipse03 594 X 285
15. Sorry_i_Win 575 X 231

very simple and too the point and its nothing personal, your just trying to help with the smoother running and cleaner more professional feel like we know what we are talking about.

There is no way in hell there should be any drama because its easy to check if your compliant, doh. And considering that some folks might not have been on in awhile, before you post a name check there last visit date. But I'm sure we all have the same list growing in our heads.

I feel as an upstanding member there should be no reason to not conform to the sig size. (400x145 or less and without ten lines of mods)
I also will offer my sevices to resize those who may of had theres made for them and might not know how to do it.Which I'm sure brian and *thom* will also as there sitting around doing nothing also emoji . What do ya's think? It should help to police our own a little without the use of mod muscle.

I'm fucking sick of huge-ass sigs, and it makes some threads unbearable to read. I'll start sending PM's to members with sig images that are excessively large, and ask them to re-size immediately.

I probably have the smallest sig on here since I'm used to being on sites that only allow a max of 250x250

I do think some people have outrageously huge sigs on here that have nothing to do with DSM's

mine like 397 x 185 and i tried to resize it to 400x140 and it looks goofy. The size just isn't close to the same proportions as the original so it distorts it quite a bit. I don't know if I have the original pic anymore if someone else thinks that the extra 45 is a big deal and wants to take a stab at resizing or making a new one for me.
