#99996, "2gnt V6 SC"

I have a 1998 Mitsubishi eclipse GS I've done allot of research as to what has Ben done and what can be done. and what all cars are built on similar plat forms and what all has Ben done to those ( the avengers and sebrings) From what I've seen you can put a 6G73 2.5 in the eclipse 2gnt( same engine in the avengers). Iv seen pictures. so I'm looking for any knowledge I can find on the swap. And I've seen a few 3.0 6g72 swaps in to the avengers and sebrings. I don't know what car they take the engine out of but the 6G72 is in the 3000gt too.
The idea I had goes a little like this.
A 6g72 out of the 3000gt VR4 but with regular headers ( no turbos so it will fit) then a centrifugal supercharger on top. I'm not going for cheap all out performance ( I know turbo the 420a or just getting gst would be the best that way) But I'm more interested in unique performance. something different

exactly what I was thinking. heh

Curious...why did you start another thread? You must have a really heavy flame suit. One thing you will find out around here is most ppl will not spoon feed you information. Especially when the info is not here..or even worse yet, if it's a search button away. There is only a handfull of us that have swaped a different engine into our cars and that was just a chryco inline 2.4l 4 cyl. And to my recolection...the first ones to do it didn't come on here and ask how to do it. They were very knowledgeable ppl to begin with and work through the issuses on there own, and then shared there experiences. As far as I'm concerned...you are basically going to have become an expert on 2gnts, the car you got the donor engine from, and SC's. Open you mind, wallet, and a book and get to it. Let us know you progress and don't be affraid to ask specific questions...we'll be here. But to ask someone that's has never done it, how to swap a V6 enigne into a 2gnt, is just assnine. And to throw a SC on top of it..heh...let me know if that's has been done before...but to my knowledge it hasn't been...why would it?

good luck.

Agreed. No need to double post. Sounds like you've done some research and that is commendable, but considering you're looking to do something unique, you're not going to find a great deal of information on the subject. Your not actually having the parts to play with and our not having any experience in this one-off idea you have equals us all just pissing in the wind.

If you think you can pull this off, start by creating a bill of materials (BOM) and then tracking down those parts. Present us with pictures and detailed descriptions of the issues you encounter and we will do our best to assist you, but until you have a specific problem, you have to keep in mind that you are asking a group of car owners who have pretty much never taken this idea beyond an initial thought, to help you do something they've never done either.

I think the subject has merit and, as many of us, deep down, appreciate the desire to innovate with the platform, I think the subject should go on. I'm going to lock your other thread, since it has all that drama in it, but keep this one technical - you and everyone else. If you can't offer any useful information to the subject, don't reply, BUT if no one replies, take this as a sign that you are going to have to work in the dark for a while on this one kurtc.

None of us ar advocates of this, I have measured the engine bays and i highly doubt it will work. Go do it and dont post till your done if you want to prove me wrong. If you need more motivation then feel free to PM me for even more disgruntle advise.
