I have been trying to gain info on the Apexi ITC, and have had some limited success.

I called Apexi, I got a tech guy (basically someone working the phones, didn't know much more besides what the manuals told him) and I at least got SOME relevant information.

I do not have any information in regards to the "car select" switch, but I did find out some info for the "type select" switches.

There are eight pins. The first pin is the "limit" switch. In the up position it limits the timing advance or retard to +/-5 degrees (or percent, whatever it is), and down is +/- 15 degrees.

The second pin is the "threshold" switch. In the up position is "standard" and the down position is "low".

The 3 to 5 pins are sensor input. Up is "pickup" and down is "0-5 volts"

The 6 to 8 pins are sensor output. Again, up is "pickup" and down is "0-5 volts"

The guy on the other end of the line said that "most cars have the type select switches all in the "up" position, but since my engine isn't on the chart he didn't know what settings would be the proper ones to use.

That is the best I have been able to do so far. I will keep on looking for more information. If I find out any more information, the board will be the first to know.

If anyone else interested in installing the ITC can find out how to wire it up (that should be easy to find out, just compare to a 4G63 and find out which wires of ours are the right ones to connect to) and more importantly what the settings on the back of the ITC should be set to in order to get it to work with our engines, that would help alot. Maybe checking out if any Neons have installed an ITC would be a good idea to investigate. (it is doubtful with the AFX chip available to them, but you never know).

Find out how the 4G guys have them wired, and find the corresponding sensors on our harness. You find that info, and i can tell you how to wire it up.

here are the specifics:

PROCEDURE:

White wire on ITC = crank angle output from ITC to ECU

Yellow wire on ITC = cam angle output from ITC to ECU

Green wire on ITC = cam angle input from cam sensor to ITC

Pink wire on ITC = crank angle input from crank sensor to ITC

Black wire on ITC = ground (must be the same ground that is used to ground the ECU to the car)

Red wire on ITC = main power to the ITC unit

The blue wire, the light blue wire, the brown wire, and the orange wire are not used in DSM installations. They should be insulated.

Probably want to use the same settings for a 4g on the ITC (all the little switches and stuff on the itc itself). Expect for probably the first one. We probably want to have the +/- 15% advance/retard because are ECUs suck at it to begin with. I don't know if it will affect anything else because of that though.

Sounds easy enough. Ever installed an SAFC, Todd? Looks to be quite similar (I guess all Apex products are like that)

I'll look up the wire colors and see what i can come up with.
