#99336, "Quick question about taking out the AC compressor"
What are you guys doing to completely remove your ac system from your car and keep the power steering? I have the lines all taken out but I am wondering it there is a way to loose the compressor and pullys and keep the power steering system. If so how do I work the belt arrangement without the ac and its pulley?

Wow. Can't say I've seen you in ages. Always loved that sig pic.
I've not done this, personally, but I'm pretty sure you can use a string to measure the length of belt you would need to go from the crank pulley to the PS pulley alone. Not sure if you're supposed to measure the length of the string altogether, but I think you get what I mean.

I'm not looking at it but doesnt the pump have an bracket that allows you to move it towards and away from the radiator. Use a prybar to hold tension towards the radiator and tighten the bolts. I'll probably be out in the garage later, i'll see if theres anything to add.

Yes, it has a slide for the top bolt so that you can apply tension to the belt. I currently have this setup..(UDP and no AC). Like mentioned above just use a prybar and then tighten the bolts down, but make sure the tension is correct because too tight/loose will throw the belt, easier then when I had AC anyways.
