Ok guys,

Just got off the phone with Gary from Howell. Looking for a little direction here. AF/X ECU, I had a red line of 8500 for about 5k miles. Just dropped down to around 7800 and holding there. Not valve float. According to Gary, not anything goofy in the ECU. It is a very consistant fuel cut at approximately 7800. I NEED that extra rpm. Can anybody give me a little direction of something I am missing? What else can cause the fuel cut (that consistantly)? It is a definite cut out. It seems to me that it can only be electronic.

Any ideas? I gotta race Friday.

Thanks,
MB

7800 rpm is the factory spark cut. Try resetting the ECU...

Good luck with that. The AFX/R I had started with a 7800rpm rev limiter in it and never did any better. Nothing like stutterbox action in the top end. I have no room to complain, as I purchased the ECU used from Ricardo (BMPDirk) and just figured it was one of the earlier verisions.

That rev limiter was the deciding factor in my going for the MSnS.

Crap. I was afraid of those answers. First thing I did was reset. Hell, maybe I'll try again for kicks. And Brian, yep, yep, yep. If you don't have the extra R's then def. MSnS.

Thanks guys,
MB
