Ok, Engine was rebuilt with new tranny, and it runs perfectly after u get it started. The car cranks over for about 5 seconds before starting but starts everytime.
If this helps these are the 2 things i have noticed, poor gas mileage and when the car starts if u stand behind it it will throw fuel out the exhaust.
So for one i know it is getting flooded with fuel and must be burning too much.

if you have a fuel pressure gauge, watch what the fuel pressure goes to when its primed. I have had similar problems with a bad fuel filter as well.
as to the leaky injector, the easiest thing to do in that case is an injector balance test. since you replaced the injectors and that did not fix it, you can rule that out.
also, if the injector was leaking...the car might tend to diesel when its shut off.
edit: check all the wiring to the cam/crank sensors as well as coil. our cars usually start quick since the DIS ignition and quick PCM knowledge of where the crank is vs say a distributor where it may have to turn over a few times.
also, get a friend and crank it for 5 seconds. pull out and ground (or use a sprk tester) and make sure each plug is in fact firing for those 5 seconds. if a plug, or two, isnt firing completely you will have unburnt fuel (HC's), and that might be why you have it coming out the tailpipe.
anyway inspect the ignition first, this will rule out ASD and crank sensor. Then move on to fuel starting with rail pressure before, and during cranking
when was the fuel filter replaced? if you let the car run for awhile till warm, does it still crank for 5 seconds before starting or does it start right away? could also be the battery

scan the ECU for coolant temp to make sure the coolant temp sensor is accurate. Use a themometer in the coolant to make sure it si accurate otherwise the cranking fuel PW will be wrong.
