ok... i was shopping online on exile and im thinking about getting the head ported and polished with a 3 angle valve job. anyway what does it mean when they ask if ill be sending the core? ok don't bash too hard on this one...

its basically a carryover term from days when Cars where traded for apple "cores" Basically you have to pay him an extra charge for him to hold onto the head and polish all the angles on the valve job. If you dont pay the "core" charge he will do only 1.5 angles, and half of an angle is kinda like a curve in a sense.
But you get what im saying here? Basically its a downpayment that he will do all the work necessary and not skimp on it; hence the term "core charge"

WHAT?? Okay, maybe I'm not up on the internet sarcasism these days, so I'll assume that was a joke.
Sending a core means sending him the part. So if you sent him the core, you'd send the head out there and they'd ship it back when they're done. If you just buy a part without sending him the core, it'll cost more since they're not only doing the work for you, but also giving you another head in the process.
You'll notice a "core" charge exists on many parts that can be remanufactured, like water pumps, alternators and brake calipers. When you go in for a water pump, you bring your old water pump and they'll give you a couple bucks for it. If you don't bring it in, it's not a big deal, but you'll pay a bit more since they aren't getting anything out of the deal.
That's what it means.

Then again, if he was being sarcastic, it was nicely done. I had to laugh. Personally, I might have gone with something along the lines of how Aluminum was originally sourced from the deepest mines in the world, close to the Earth's core. Before scientists discovered how to make synthetic Aluminum, there was an additional charge required to cover the shift differential paid to the expert miners who risked their lives to mine this most precious of automotive raw materials. ok... just a little confusion here i see. im not that retarded. i didn't mean a "core charge" i know what that is i get it all the time with brake pads from advanced haha. so i guess it's talking about sending in the head which i was gonna do anyway. why couldn't they just say "sending head?" yes or no? that would be easier so i wont brain fuck it. thanks anyway
oh btw, i found (what i guess) is a knock-off coil pack called screamin demon which puts out like 40 k watts or something. any good or should i stay with the original idea of getting the MSD?
