#98592, "Where Did You Buy Your Internals?"

I hope I'm not cross any lines asking this, but I've been searching over the last few months for the lowest prices on JE 8.8 pistons (the regular .020" over), and Eagle rods. This being the most popular setup for us 2GNT'ers I thought I'd find some buyers info on this stuff on the forums, but I haven't emoji So I decided to make a post.

I remember seeing JE 8.8's with rings a while back for $499 new from some 420a website that I can no longer seem to find. The best I've seen recently is like $550+, and who knows what Hahn charges, I've never been able to get them to answer/return a call to me.

I appreciate any help you guys can provide, and I'm sure others will too emoji

there is a guy on ebay that sells the eagle/je combo for 750.00 + rings. He is on all the time, if you dont see a listing then wait a week. He always lists them and has good feedback.

Ebay Search: 420a

I just order a set of JE 8.8:1 piston/rings and eagle rods from Nopionline for $900. Recieved items within a week, with the pistons being on backorder. I know it may seem a little pricey but I've dealt with them before and was satisfied.

I've built 2 420A's now with internals bought from Modern Performance. I am very pleased with their service so far. Prices are pretty good, not sure if they are the lowest around, but very fair. Its worth it to me, to pay a few bucks more, to know you will be taken care of when ordering important parts like that..

Dont worry Matt i will post the link...lol

If you look there also Donny, the low compression pistons are the same for Neon SOHC and DOHC and have valve reliefs. Only differnt when you go high compression which makes perfect sense.

Not planning on buying any more pistons for a while.

Would you believe your old HRC kit is in the process of being installed only just now? emoji I think Dave still has your old engine is pieces in drawers in his garage. He should be putting it all together this year, imo. emoji

I love you guys, thanks for replying despite some typos I see now in my post (I was at the shop and a car pulled up so I didn't have time to check my spelling).

I already got my engine pulled, I gotta order everything now.

Yeah, I think that's the lowest price I've seen, but I don't trust those guys. They swore to me that the 180* 4g63 thermostat they sent me for my 420a was the correct one (even showed them pictures of the massive thermostat they sent me), and wouldn't take it back.

Awesome! I think this will be where I purchase them, it's showing up on eBay now (didn't when I looked before).

Cool, it'll be good to see the DaveTouch(tm) applied to it. I didn't realize who he was when I was selling it, but it couldn't have gotten into better hands. I'll definitely bring my Talon project out there when he finishes, sounds like we'll both be finishing our kits around the same time.
