Hmmmm.... i did get an email about this, but i just talked to a representative, and they said anyone who would be disconnected will be notified of it. He said that they are, as i write this, in meetings for at&t to purchase Excite network, but they don't know if it will go down as of now. Your sevice should not be interupted unless something happens soon, and if they don't buy Excite, they will have their own network running within time. So.... This kinda sucks that i hear this cause i just got this damn cable modem like 2 weeks ago!!! ahhhh!!!! Hopefully everything is cool! I don't know if this applies to everyone on the broadband network, but for me in Michigan, that whats up....

this is because excite wants too, they are gonna be forced to close, but at their will, this way, companies like cox cable and charter are forced to buy their servers, making them get even more money

For those using Adelphia cable to get @home service, from what I was told, they are going to switch over to Adelphia's servers in about a week. So no cable modem for a week.

Check this out. Everyone in my city, all my friends and even my neibors don't have cable internet anymore, it has been cut off --- but....I do still have it. I'm not sure exactly why, I've made a lot of 'odd' changes to my setup. A long time ago I had a router built for me, to set up a LAN- so I have 3 computers on cable, and I also set my account up with a static IP address a while back -- not sure if this is why, but I still have cable, heh...
I lost mine. I have a router. Called at&t and got the new DNS servers and ran their stupid ass little program. Fixed. Took 5 minutes. It took longer to wait on hold then to get the info and fix it.
