After some hard driving this week I noticed a difference in the sound of the engine.
It only happens when I go over 3500 RPMS and let off the gas completely. It just sounds like the engine is louder than usual, and a different tone, like, not raspy but...it sounds like a straining engine sound, or as if I had put a cheap muffler on, however the sound comes from the engine bay, no anywhere down the exhaust line.. Could it be intake/exhaust related? I have a CAI, but I don't think that has anything to do with it, I'm guessing its exhaust related since the Throttle plate is closed when this sound happens. Maybe a leak somewhere? At least I'm hoping its that and not some internal engine problem

stock GS exhaust on it. Theres also a slight rattle that may or may not be related, i can only hear it at idle. I will be getting under the hood this weekend to see if I can find anything, but to be honest I don't know much of what to look for yet.
Just want to reiterate, the sound only happens when I go over 3500 rpms and completely let off the throttle. If I go to around 4000 rpms and and shift to the next gear, no sound (its an auto), or if i let the throttle off slowly.

i dunno..i mean...every car that iv ever heard gets a little louder and lower (although on the exhaust end) when they just completley step off the gas at decent rpm

Yeah but this sound is brand new. Its like a loud whining sound. AAAEHHHHHHH is basically what it sounds like, a really annoying whine. I'll take a sound clip tomorrow probably.

i have a similar problem, when i let go off the gas pedal at high rpms, my car sounds like an electric toy car.....the weird noise comes from the right side of the engine bay.....it's annoying, but the car runs perfectly fine tho....
