I need to order a new intake system. I noticed there are alot of well priced systems on Ebay. Are these systems cheap? Worth the money/hassle?
Also, do you guys suggest/run the short ram or the long ram? I kind of would like to try having the long ram but would like to get some opinions. I am thinking filters probably get alot more worked over down there behind the bumper.
Air Intake Cost | $50-$400 Power | minimal, more gains can be realized with more mods Difficulty | 1 One of the first mods any tuner will do to their car. Don't let corporate propaganda sway you - the difference between a name brand and generic air intake system is minimal. The best value can be had by getting a "short ram" kit from eBay and then installing a quality K&N air filter on it, which you can buy at most local auto parts stores. The only reason to buy a new, name brand full cold air intake system is if you're not going to turbocharge the engine anytime soon or just want to make your engine bay look pretty. There is also the risk of water ingestion with the full CAI set ups. You can't use this with a turbo kit, so keep that in mind.

I bought a OBX cai from concet illusion it was like $30. I didint like the filter so I just ran out and bought a 2.5 in long neck k&n cone and the throttle response is incredibal, the hoses are yellow (I ordered red) but over all it was a great very cheap gain, with my dc sports header, custom cat, and magna flo cat the engine sounds great
