I have a 97 eclipse gs with about 107k miles. My car has a idle problem, but its just every now and then. it will idle fine at one stop light (about 900rpm) and idle like shit at the next (350-500). i did notice today that my car is smoking white a little during the first few minutes its running and it REEKS of gas. The coil pack, plug wires and plugs were all just replaced a few months ago. i can put my car in nuetral(I'm auto) while im stopped and my idle goes up a little bit. I dont know that this helps, but my volt meter says around 13.5 volts so i dont think its anything to do with battery or alternator. Other than the idle peoblem my car runs fine. any ideas what would cause this, i dont know what in the hell would make it so random.

map sensor may be bad and i would also replace your o2 sensors, when did you have the fuel filter replaced last?

fuel filter was replaced about a year ago, maybe a little less. thanks for the info
