I already have a PLX-M300 wideband with a wideband output signal. Can I run that signal wire from the control unit to the o2 sensor signal into the narrowband O2 gauge and still get an accurate reading?? I don't want to have the obnoxious digital meter showing all the time but I wouldn't mind having a needle bouncing around a little bit all the time.

Will this work?

Well, I'm going to say no.

Here's the reason I'm thinking.

The narrowband O2 sensor is a 0-1 volt with 0 being super lean and 1 being super rich. 0.5 volts coming out of a narrowband O2 would be stoich.

A wideband O2 sensor is a 0-5 volt sensor, with 5 volts being lean and 0 volts being rich. About 2.5 volts (depending on sensor) coming out would be stoich.

So you have two problems. First, it's an opposite response. In other words, with a NB, the more voltage means the richer and the less means the leaner. With a WB it's the opposite.

Second, if the NB gauge is setup to only read between 0-1 volts, most of your driving with a WB will be closer to 1-4 volts, then the NB gauge will read rich most of the time, and not be indicative of what you're actually running.

Sound logical?

PS. I know that many WBO2's have narrowband outputs. These would obviously work, but from the way I read your question, I interpreted it as though you wanted to take the wideband output and see if it would work on a narrowband gauge. Was I correct?

I thought the wideband had a wideband output, separate from the wires going into the unit...I will need to do some research to see if that is a narrowband output to feed the gauge. I hope so!

So running the narrowband output to the narrowband gauge, will that be more accurate than running the rear o2 sensor to the A/F gauge since the wideband controller is still processing the wideband signal and spitting it out as a **more accurate** narrowband signal?

you can run the narrow band output to the blinky ricer narrowband if you must have it.
Its not rocket science
Narrow band output goes to a narrow band
Wideband goes to the wide band
Would you hook up the printer connection to your monitor emoji

The purpose of the narrow band output is to actually send to the ECU and omit the stock narrow band sensor all together.
