#97106, "Does it matter how the heater core is connected?"

I am installing the engine/tranny I rebuilt this weekend and I was looking at the engine bay yesterday and thought I would replace the old heater core hoses. I did not mark them when I took them off (...i know, duh) so I was wondering does it matter how it is connected or is there a specific way. I tried searching but could not find a detailed answer.

There are two pipes that stick through the fire wall, one above another. Which pipe of the heater core connects to which pipe of the water pipe? Thanks.

I believe they correspond just like you said. The waterpipe has one above the other, just like the heater core itself. Top to top, bottom to bottom

The heater core is up and down but the water pipe is side by side. If it doesn't matter than cool I will just hook it up and go. I figured it probably wouldn't but I figured better to ask.
