what happens is, i boost my car off, let it run for a few mins, drive it around the block some, etc ... then within 2 days its dead again! i think something is running my battery all the time, i have a python alarm, maybe it? ... my buddy tonight told me its my alternator but i dont believe that because the car isnt running you know, just parked until i get it fixed how i want. Hardly drove it all winter, so it aint been ran much at all ... anyone have this problem or know what i can do? thanks guys i appreciate it

It could be your alternator I suppose because it could be charging weak, then after two days it cant keep up and your battery dies. I kinda doubt it though. Anyways it does sound more like something is staying on. Check to see if anything is drawing current from the battery when everything is off. If there is then you know something is on. Thats my two cents....take it or leave it.

If you have multimeter (measure voltage) you could test your alternator charging ability.

With the car running measure across the battery and see what you measure. It should be around 13.5 volts or higher. Anything less and you could have weak alternator....or the belt tensioner may need to be tightened (I have seen this before).

Some parts stores will test your charging system for free, might be an easier way to go?

If you only let your car run a few minutes it may not have time to recharge the battery via the alternator, can you pull the battery and have it charged with a trickle charger? That way you know the battery is fully charged.

I would make sure to rule out the charging system completly (is: battery, cables (clean connection), alternator, etc.). Than you can worry about something a little more complicated like a parasitic voltage drain.
