Sooooo... I been letting my parents drive my avenger cause their car broke down, well mom calls crying cause she said she blew up the car, well turns out it was knocking a lil, and i hated to do it but we had nothing else to drive for another couple weeks, so i told her to drive it easy that few weeks and i'd look at it later... well i got the engine out(gonna paint the block and considering a lil performance work)and saw that the knocking wasn't coming from the engine but isn't the flywheel, and i'll let the pics do the rest of the talking, oh yeh they car ran fine for nearly a month with the flywheel like this....

Flywheel? That looks like a flewplate too me, am I not seeing enough of it? Looks like you got off easy then, replace that (whatever it is) and get your butt back on the road And don't let your mom drive your car!

From pictures I cant's see what does it say on the flywheel? Did some one screw your car over? And it was like this since 2003?

Make sure, if the clutch/torque convertor sits exposed to the elements for any period of time, that you chase the threads before using Loc-Tite, as Loc-Tite does not hold up well if there is any surface rust in there.
Can't see your pictures, but it's got mine written all over it. I didn't get lucky enough to have it last anything longer than three days.

Happened to me too, when i had 2 valves drop into a cylinder a few years back. The sudden locking up of the engine cracked the flexplate, and messed up the sprun hub on the clutch disk..Some may recall this fiasco on the few days prior to the DSM Shootout a few years ago
