#96448, "Oil Leak - Need some advice"

Okay, from reading all of the posts on this subject, I have narrowed down the leak to two possible spots: the rear main seal or the oil galley plug. The leak starts about three inches above the slave cylinder between the block and the tranny and travels all the way back to the rear mount. The oil runs down the tranny from the inspection plate. How many of you have had this problem? What did you find to be the cause? Also, how long did you let the leak go until you decided to fix it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm pretty sure I'm leaking there, I'm leaking everywhere!

What have I done about it? I add oil every week (sometimes more often than that).

Don't call me lazy, I don't have time to fix it. I found out today that I will be getting a new car in 6 weeks, so I just have to go through about 3 more quarts of oil. When I have the time and money I'll just fix everything at once! And then I'll make the car faster at the same time.

lol....nah I wouldn't call you lazy, I would do the same thing if my car had that many leaks. The thing is that this is a rebuild not even six months old. I had some shop do it, instead of doing it myself. Learned my lesson, the engine has a 5 year warranty but leaks are only covered for the first 3 months. I hate seeing leaks on a "new" engine. Guess I'll be going for a month like this until I save up enough for a new clutch too. Just wondering if anyone else has/had the same issue?

EDIT: nevermind... I didn't fully read your reply... 3 month leak warranty.

update - took the inspection plate off and there is almost no oil at all on the flywheel. the bottom of the tranny is coated in sludge and so is the clutch fork. took out the starter and that too has oil all on it. could it be the input shaft seal on the tranny? btw the clutch is not slipping and the fluid does not look like nor smell like tranny fluid.
