#96343, "Well....I finished my engine rebuild this weekend."
I just thought I would pass along that I finished my stock engine rebuild this weekend. It's kinda rewarding knowing that I did all the work myself and I didn't have any left over parts!! Now I am planning on going into the ATX this month so that should be interesting. I have rebuilt several motors but never done a transmission rebuild so hopefully that will go ok. It's kinda sad that I will not be able to test the engine for another few months until the transmission is done.
Thanks to Corbin for his write up, it helps to see the pictures with the instructions....very thorough writeup!!
Anyway I will keep you guys posted on the progress of putting the car back together. In case you were wondering I did the following to the engine (nothing out of the ordinary):
1) Bored .020 over due to cylinder wall scarring from excessive carbon build up in the ring lands. 2) Bought new pistons and had everything (rotating assembly) balanced at a local race shop. 3) Had a 3 Angle valve job done on the head. 4) Changed the hydraulic timing tensioner to the mechaincal one from Parts Dinosaur.
Places I purchased stuff: 1) Parts Dinosaur 2) RockAuto 3) Autozone 4) NAPA
