#96278, "Question about installing bedplate"

I have two questions. #1: reading the online manual, it says to install the bedplate baffle... what is that? I look at the pic and I have no idea what that is, I'm pretty sure I dont have one. I have an early 95 block. #2: the round gasket that goes between the bedplate and the block, where the oil filter adapter goes, but between the bedplate and block, I have 2 different gaskets that are the same diameter, but different thicknesses. Which do I use? the sizes of both are: 1-1/4" Diameter and 1/8" thick and the other is 1-1/4" diameter and around 5/32" thick. I want to say the smaller thickness one b/c the 1/8" thick seems too thick, but then again maybe it needs to be that thick b/c after you torque everything down it seals better, but I dont want to make a mistake and do the wrong one. thanks guys
oh I forgot, I would compare the 2 gaskets to the one I took out, but I cant find the one I took out, so that is not an option.

The manual mentions the baffle, but honestly i have never seen one on a 2GNT. Would have been nice, its like a pseudo crank scraper.

ok thanks, I was pretty sure it was a mistake. And for my question about the gaskets, I now am strongly believing it is the smaller thickness gasket, I believe the thicker one is for the oil pump-to-block gasket. That's the only thing I can figure.

I have an OEM baffle, it came out of a 95 SOHC Neon. Its there to prevent oil from splashing onto the crankcase vent holes only found in that version of the 420a.

Strange. I've got a 95 SOHC neon block with those vent holes, but it didn't have the baffle in it.
