Hey everyone, I'm new to the board, and I've been talking a lot on another board (mach V if anyone else has gone over there) but they only seem to talk about upgrades and fixes for turbos. Someone over there told me about this board, and I'm hoping I'll have a lot better luck with my own kind emoji. I'm driving a 1995 Durango Copper Pearl Eclipse GS, which is the reason I bought a non-turbo, for its rare color emoji. That and I wanted to avoid the crankwalk!

Anyways, I am in the middle of changing over my timing belt and it's going fairly well, still have to get a pulley puller for the crank pulley, but otherwise things are going smoothly. What I am now looking at is replacing as much as I can while I'm in there with performance upgrades so that I can close it back up and not worry about having to go in again. I'm looking around to find an underdrive pulley, but what other parts can I upgrade in there? I know the cams arent available yet, but is there anything else? Thanks a lot guys!

I had to do that same thing about 6 months ago... it was a pain. I replaced pretty much everything in there... water pump, idler bearings, belt... The toughest part was getting the crank pulley off, i had to "borrow" a special puller to get it off i broke mine and a loaner from checker before i realized that it need a "special tool"...
if you get a underdrive pulley let me know the performance gains.

It is a smaller pulley tool that has a insert that slides into the crank to push the pulley off. I called a couple of performance shops and asked if they knew of a special tool for removing the crank pulley on the eclipse... after i found one i had to leave them a $150 dollar deposit, but with the right tool i had it off in 15 minutes, compared to the other way.. two broken tools, smashed fingers, and lots of swear words.

you need a 3 jaw 5 ton gear puller. deposit for me was 40bux

performance gain..... well, a 3kgt pulled 4 cars on me when i didnt have it, and i kept up, and pulled slowly up from ~70 to 110 after the install the next time i raced the same car.

Well if your looking for parts you can upgrade there while you have your timing belt of I suggest some cam gears if you have the money. You also have to have access to a dyno to tune them correctly.
