Where does the EGR plate go?
How much does it cost?
How easy is it to install?

also, the most important thing nobody mentions is that it has no benefit to performace. all it does is maybe shave off the weight of the actual EGR and the metal tube that conncts to it. its basically a useless mod. its like hoping a sticker makes it go faster, see where im goin with this?

I just wish my car was as fast as it was loud. people tell me i should use my sub to push it, it might go faster.

i thank it is a good mod. the egr puts hot exhaust gas back into the intake. this raises the temp in the manifold a little. cold air helps fuel burn better which means more hp. not alot more but a little.

Also makes it so if you have emissions testing, you fail. Brings a CEL up. Not worth it imo.

well if your in a state that does not do emmisions check then go for it. ^^is correct about the performance gains, I would guess they are none. The only gain is it keeps all that black gunk out of your intake, and will likely save you from burning through some wires since that pipe gets so hot and the harness sits almost on it.

That's the best reason to get rid of it.

Amen. I've helped guys broken down on the highway because of that shit. I still like knowing my Fierro manifold is staying clean inside without that thing installed.

Weight reduction? That's the most asinine explanation I've ever heard given for it. If that's the case, I'm sure to break some records for pulling the weather strip out from the base of the windshield. emoji

Another good reason to ditch it if you don't have emissions is if it goes bad and your car won't idle unless you remove or replace it... Thats what happened to me. I had some weird idle problems and it turned out to be the egr was jacked up.

no no, not a little, "zero" dyno tested at 0hp gain 0tq gain. useless mod, its just lick stickers. changing your hood to a cf one will do more for the car by losing weight. its absolutely pointless.

the only reason i can see to get rid of the egr is like mine
to install the portfueler you have to cut the egr metal pipe and weld a section into it.
its easier to bolt on a block off
and deal with it come emissions test time

EGR block off is good for:

1: Freeing up space in the engine bay
2: 1 Less hot pipe for wires and hoses to burn on
3: No hot gases into intake(lowering intake manifold temp)
4: No carbon into intake
5: Clean air at all times

I made my block off plates in 20 minutes out of an aluminum sign I had sitting in my shed. And for emissions sake, you can get around the CEL if need be by hooking up the solenoid to vacuum and to the ECU, it does not need to be connected to the EGR pipe.
