So I redid the timing today and it runs and idles perfectly I know everything was TDC...
However now I have a p1390
for a while (like 2 mos) when Id try to start the car, it would crank, but wouldnt turn over coz Id get no fire. So I replaced the ignition coil and wires and plugs...no good
Now its becoming more common and not just an annoyance anymore...
Sorry I let it go so long...
does anybody have a clue what it might be??, coz Im lost on this one...

I already did, "the timing belt skipped a tooth..."
it not possible though
everything was perfect...
Im thinking crank/cam position sensor... yes I know theyre different...
might have something to do with it not firing sometimes...
just wanted other peoples opinions before I spend anymore money
I have tuition to pay in a couple of weeks...

looks like she pulled a "bloodyangel". i would check timing once again, i had to do my timing so many times to get it right, it still has a slight miss, but it drives pretty good, ill take it somewhere and have them look at it eventually, timing is prolly off the tiniest bit, but since i got adj. cams, ill get it dyno tuned and have them adjust them to run better anyways

Pull and inspect your crank position sensor. If the end of it's cracked where it picks up the crank shaft then replace it. If it's not cracked it won't hurt to replace it anyways. I'm not sure how to test it with out looking at the manual which you can find on Dino's page (look on his sig). Believe it or not the CPS goes bad all the time on these motors I've replaced a bunch of them for being cracked or out of spec.

its hard to say, however if your car is idling fine and its not all crazy like you and i discussed before than id say your ok because keep in mind being out of time is what got you here in the first place, this code that your ecu is spitting out now might be from before you redid timing unless you reset the ecu or cleared the data and it keeps comming up? if you fixed your idle issues thats great and i hope everything works out for yo emoji
id say clear all cel's and go from there.

well Ive now replaced the Cam and its still not firing...
I also checked the voltage and Im getting nothing out of that wire that plugs into my ignition coil... Im assuming thats the other end of the plug for the cps
Im going back to autozone the exchange for the crank sensor
also Ive swapped ecus and both of them are doing the same thing, so Im wary of that being the issue
Does anyone have a torch???

ok so Ive replaced the crank sensor
and also figured out why it was sending an intermittant signal...
there was a ton of oil in the plug....prolly from when I took off the valve cover coz theres no oil leaking above it, it was also plugged in half assed...
LOL
well now the 1390 CEL is gone
drove it around the block, still gone...
thats prolly why it wasnt firing...DUH!!! emoji
at least I wont have to torch it now.. emoji
thank you to everyone for all of your help

I was wrong about how the oil was getting there
it was coming up through the sensor, guess the seal wasnt expanding, also the shiny metal part wasnt too hard to spin...
I exchanged the replacement today and this one spins a little bit too
if oil comes up through it again its something wrong with the brand that Autozone sells. So im gonna get my money back and go to Napa.
Also there was no oil coming from up above, so its gotta be the sensor.
