I think you would have to do some VERY serious tuning to be able to run high compression without blowing the motor. Lower compression prevent the motor from detination (plain english: the air/fuel in the combustion chamber will not self combust on hot surfaces). To run a higher comp. ratio you would have to run on high octain fuel(race gas). Not axactly what you would have in mind for a street car!

P.S. Are comp. ratio is 9 to 6 which is really not bad for turbo but does anyone know why we have such low comp. ratio on are motors if their ment to be non turbo?

Our stock compression is 9.6:1.

I think a compression of 9:1 is good for turbo..

Long term I am going to do it backwards. If you want to do the easy safer way, go lower and you can run higher boost. Just don't overdo it on stock internals.

I want to build a higher compression motor, completely built N/A. Cams, stregnthened internals... stroker??? Then go turbo and run lower levels of boost. Get a thinker head gasket and drop compression slightly. Keep some low end torque and power with the higher compression and then the turbo will kick in and fly. This is not cheap and will take me a long time to have the money to do this... but it's what I plan.
