#94455, "Anyone know what kind of exhaust this would be?"

I just got the car with this exhaust and am curious to know what kind of exhaust it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is a catback I know that but what brand? I plan on getting a header and want to know if is any good with a Greddy header or if I need to get another exhaust.

I wouldn't waste your money on a header, expecially a Greddy one. All you get is a small change in noise and it looks great under the hood. But it doensn't really do much. I'd save your time and money for something else like a turbo kit. And any header will work with any cat-back the only thing that could make it not fit is if they put on a test pipe or aftermarket cat but it should still fit even if they did that.

I don't know, sorry. I'm sure someone on here does, it just depends if they see this post or not.

I think that, if the man asks you if it says "CP" and decided to comment, he's obviously already read it.

It's a muffler. I doubt it's an actual axle-back or cat-back system, but it should be fine unless you've got a shitton of other engine mods. If you think you might go turbo in the near future, don't even bother with it. As long as it doesn't look gay and sounds decent, that's all that matters.

Well it is kind of hard to tell what the letters are E or C. But it is a catback because I can tell by the 3in piping all the way back to the catalytic converter or however you spell it. I do plan on going turbo but not for a loooonnngg while , so I just want to make it at least decent untill then. I want to get me my house first next year and then I will spend that kind of money into my car since I will have a garage to park it in. My last car got stolen so I don't want to put that much money into it and it get stolen again.....

It doesn't look that bad, but 3" is too big for NA. You're losing power down low because of that system (if it really is 3"). How do you know it's a 3"? emoji

Yea, how do you know that it's 3in? And if it is that would probably explain why it sounds like a ricerocket, its to big.

Well I didn't measure or nothing but it looks about that I could be wrong. Maybe 2 1/2 or so I really don't know but I do know it was bigger then stock and aluminum in color.

HA! Well I was very bored so I decided to look for this system untill I found it. I am 99.8% sure this is correct. It is a Checkpoint Auto Accessories muffler. You either have stock piping or custom bent stuff. I haven't found any close up pictures of their mufflers because it seems like not many people have them. But if you look on the site you can see the little stamp on some models and I doubt theres another company with CP stamped on their mufflers in that same spot.

Here is the site for you.

wow that is the symbol thanks alot dude! Now I know the brand. It must be custom tubing then because I can tell its not stock by the color. It totally looks different from the piping from the header down to the cat. I am pretty sure its aluminum piping but I think that company did or does make catbacks but I am not sure. But now my question is , is that company any good? I don't think so since they have their catback systems named greddy so on and so on. I think they are gineric greddy catbacks or something.lol. Hey but thanks for finding out what kind of exhaust I got. emoji

Hum, Well I have never heard of some of those Greddy models but they just sell those exhausts like any retailer and make their own mufflers. That's just what I am guessing. For your application it will be just fine unless you have a ton of mods like stated before, it might just be cheaply made with cheap muffler filling but I don't know for sure. Since I am having troubles trying to say what I want to I am basically saying that it will be fine, it just might sound bad or go bad after a while. I don't see a point in changing it unless it falls off or you get mod heavy. I hope that helps some.

Thanks it does. I will just keep it untill I build up my bottom end and go with my star stage 2 that I might go with. Then I will get new exhaust to go with the turbo and injectors and so forth. That is if I go turbo I haven't made up my mind but thanks everyone for the very good feedback...
