I say this about once a year after someone hydrolocks... COLD AIR INBTAKES SUCK. They give you very little hp, and can destroy your car in a matter of seconds. Not worth the risk vs. the benefit if you want to look at it from a business perspective.

That just looks like a damn good excuse to upgrade to forged internals and go turbo.

Yeah thats why I thought I could get away with doing it again. Turns out your rods are stronger than mine. It was the same exact situation, (car stalled, etc) just less water. But yeah, dont ever do that again. emoji

I BLAME KAISER! He went to Texass and left us without a competent Rally Navigator. I suck at compasses. And puddles.

I still can't believe the 8 hour rally we did, where I slept all of 1 hour the night before. I swear the driving directions made absolutely no sense.

Atleast we won something "press on regardless award" good for 1 free entry to the next rally.

Totally sweet. Even though I can't see the first five pictures, I bet it's a blast. Too bad it's illegal here in Arizona. emoji

dammit, can't edit the links... reposting them for greatness: (this is a larger puddle than blew my engine btw)

It's illegal here too... thats why monte carlo rallies kick so much ass- technically you're not breaking any rules.

More info on Monte Carlo Rally. Less preaching to the choir about CAIs. I'm interested, as I've never heard much about this style before.

Here ya go Driggs. Hehe, thread hijack!

Haha, nice, the beater!!! Too bad its already gone. I will miss it. Good times with that POS. Definitely saved my ass when I had that street racing ticket. But damn, those puddles look really bad. I forgot what the puddle looked like back in Feb. I think that puddle was actually less deep, but longer though. I know I waded the car a few feet before actually stalling. Gosh, just the thought of what could have happened... *shudder*

Edit: Nice! I was actually looking for pics of that day. Sweet, found the pic of my car again.

Hey Dan ... it's called clutch in, idle load, and coast through puddle! emoji I only bent 2 rods at 10mph in 7" of water. emoji

I think hydrolocking is just an extreme form of water injection! I bet those intake air temps were really low before the motor locked up!

Map-based Monte Carlo-style Road Rallye: An open road driving event which uses Official Maps and Route Instructions to communicate the intended ("preferred") route to the entrants. Entrants then use the maps to find and follow the course so that they arrive at the Rallye Controls at the time and in the direction specified. Events are held on public roads and timing is calculated at or below legal speed limits.

They don't do it out here. Also, pretty sure the SCCA has gotten out of the rally game. I know NASA still has events, but the closest events to me would be rally-x up in Vegas. I might be taking the new toy up that way for some action this winter to see if I would rather clean it up and make it a daily or turn into my track bitch. :hmmm
