i have a warped cyl head and my car burns a little coolant when i hit boost in high gears. now i was wondering how safe it would be on my motor if i was to put it away for the winter and fix it in the spring or should i not leave it like that and get another cyl head right away. if anyone knows of someone selling a 420a head please inform me thanks
Its safe to put it away for winter, since you know the head is warped and it burns coolant in boost, i would pull the plugs out and crank the motor over with the coil unplugged just to make sure there is no coolant in the cylinder. any water or coolant can cause rust. put the plugs back in and close er up for the cold winter months.

Yeah... but even if you crank the motor and blow the coolant out, there will still be moisture in there. It would very likely rust if you left it that way for months (believe me, I just experienced this first-hand). You really need to pull the head off real quick and spray it down with greese. Doug
IF you are going to put it away for the winter and NOT even turn it over, COMPLETELY FILL the engine with oil. I did it with my old camaro when I went out on a 7 month cruise. Get it to where you are gonna leave it and then fill it untill you see the oil at the fill opening. BEFORE you try to turn her over or work on her, drain the oil out and either refill or commence to tearing it apart... I never had one problem with it and mine sat outside through the winter. Just make sure that your coolant is the right mix and full also... Good luck!
