#93571, "what would cause this to happen?"

this is probably going to sound very stupid and i am pretty sure what the cause is but i wanted to run it by you all here who may know for a fact what the problem is. once or twice a month, my car decides to have a period. itll start up kind of crappy; ie, rpms go to maybe 1100, drop a little and then hold at about 8 or 900. when im driving it on one of these days, itll run halfway decent until i brake. when i brake, it comes very close to stalling and sometimes it actually does stall. it isnt every time i brake tho. i can engage the brake and be fine but the minute that the clutch goes in, it happens. my guess is that the spark plugs have to be changed. any ideas?

i would also like to know what this could be, the same thing used to happen to me just as often (actually happened the day i was supposed to pick the car up from the lot i bought it at) mine seems to have slowly disappeared though i thought maybe it was clogged fuel filter or something. idk i can't really remember if it has happened since i changed my plugs and fuel filters (inline and intank) all i know is it happens much less often than it used to and it happened more often when it was very cold out

my car did something similar to what it is doing now 3 years ago when i picked it up and that was something concerning a loss of vaccum but my dad had it fixed shortly after we picked it up. hopefully someone on here has some idea of what it could be.
