#93568, "Exhaust wrap to downpipe to before cat to preheat heating of oil pan..."

Kinda dumb question but is it okay to wrap some thermal heat wrap on the bottom of the car near the oil pan? I threw away my old exhaust heatshields regretably emoji about two years ago... I am just concerned about the oil getting on the exhuast wrap causing a fire...

Soooo tell me if this is a bad idea.

Thanks!

Well i have wrapped my DP all the way to the cat to try to reduce heat. I do not have any external oil leaks, but oil is not as flamable as some of the other items running around in the engine bay, so I would not think it would be too much of an issue. Short answer do it but fix your oil leak while you are under there...

Actually I don't have an oil leak. I was just putting up a theoretical scenario.
