Ebay CAI OBX 4-1 Ceramic coated headder 2.5" Test Pipe 2.5" Exhuast piping/thunder muff muffler with 5" tip EGR Block Off Howell UDP
What should I get next:
AEM Adjustable Cam gears? $275 SAFC? $100 Bore the spare TB I have sitting in my room?
The reason I asked is becasuse I can get a used SAFC for $100 from a friend and they just opened a new dyno in town like 10 minutes from my house.
I'd like to get some cam gears becase I plan on having a 50 or 75 shot in the future and I read in Super Street that a 2gNT with a 75shot and cam gears prooduced some nice numbers.
--I think it was Super Street, I can't remember.
thanks

1. Cam Gears 2. TB
Optional 3. SAFC
Start with the cam gears, you have more tuning capabilities there than with the afc (as far as potential), and the TB will just add a little more flow.

Cam gears are pretty much useless unless
1. You have a decked head and you need to correct for it
2. You are installing aftermarket cams and believe me they are NEVER degreed properly from the factory. To get them to the spec you see on the timing tag you will need to degree them in which requires adjustable gears.

I said that because he mentioned dyno tuning. Import Tuner used a 2gnt as a test machine. With only a CAI, Header and exhaust, it pumped out 119hp and 122 ft/lb. With adjustable cam gears, they got 126 and 127 out of it. Not exactly a huge gain, but not worthless either.

While both these reasons are true, you can also extend overlap with the cam gears. This will give you a little more power in the top end.
BUT...I would go with porting the TB to at least 55 (plus match porting and polishing - cost you nothing but labor). Gotta breathe before you can run! MB
