#92771, "what part is this?"

95 esi. This part lives in front of the starter. On one end it is attached to a hose that runs to the egr valve. The other end is attached to a metal pipe that dissapears under the car.

Never having seen one in person, I can only speculate. I would say it is part of the secondary air injection valve. This part existed on 1995 MT cars and was later recalled and the metal pipe was capped off. Maybe?

So I am guessing I can't find this part anymore, except at a wreckers. Can I just tie the hose back then? Does it matter there is an open pipe sitting there now?

Yeah, I think so. My car has a decal on the ECU and under the hood that says "authorized software updated" with the part# and date it was done. So I'm assuming that is what that is for.

Just take it to the dealer and have them do the recall. Then take the EGR out and call it a day.
