i did my valve guide seals yesterday and my compressor was too big to fit in our heads. its the jaw type with the handle on top u turn. so that wouldnt fit so i bought a L shape looking manual kind and that was too bbig too. my only solution was to grind the L shape one to a size that would fit. which i did but its def way more work to get them out and in that way.. so what kind are we supposed to use.

This the way I did this: I bought a valve spring compressor that you can get from Sears. Those huge clamp looking things that V8 people use you know? I know it doesn't work for DOHC heads, then I took a long socket, big enough so it covers the spring retainers. So you would compress the spring by using that socket and use the hole on top the socket to take out the locks by using a magetic scope. So when the 2 locks stick to the magnet release the pressure and your done! Get the picture? It's so easy! Putting the locks back is another story, you may have to sacrifice a socket to cut out the sides so that you'll be able to install the locks in the future.
This is the way I did it and it works. Some people may have different techniques.

Contact DUUUUUUUDE at www.az2gnt.net he makes special ones for our heads 20$ a piece they work great. Or you can spend 160$ and get the one from snapon.
