#92107, "Problem after B&M shifter installed."

Now i installed everything just like the instructions said and it goes in to every gear fine and drives fine, but when i put the shifter into 1st,2nd, 5th, and reverse, the shifter knob goes back to the middle of 3rd and 4th. The car is in each gear but the knob floats over to the neutral position b/w 3-4 gear. I am wondering if maybe the spring is messed up or what could be the problem. It is pissing me off, i looked over everything i can think of. There are new shifter cables and new short shifter and now have to figure this problem out. Any suggestions will be apreciated. I am sure someone else can let me know what i did wrong or forgot to check.
